FF9 Hildagarde 3

Somebody asked me when the HG3 will be done. It will just take some time as it is created from scratch and there is not much visual information about it. Here a picture to please the masses.

I think I need to redo the textures for the props and other parts, because the wooden mainbody turned out looking better then the rest.

For all those wondering what I did the last weeks...

But this only applies to papercraft developing. I was busy with other stuff like friends, destroying my body with beer, running around the streets being noisy and building plastic injection kits.

This is the thing I'm currently getting my hands dirty on. A DeHAVILAND Mosquito Bomber Mk IV used by british forces in WWII.

And before that I finished this thing. I was an Italeri F-14A modelkit but I "modded" to a MACROSS ZERO F-14A.

Next thing to do is a special papercraft of jewel staite in Stargate Atlantis crew uniform. (Caution! Papercuts etc. :D )
Blargh... just joking ... I need to finish all the other shit first :P

Final Fantasy VIII Timber Tempest WIP

In one of my earlier blogposts I released a list of projects. One of those list entries was named "Final Fantasy 8 project (planning)". Some of you might remember the train mission in Final Fantasy 8. I'm proud to present the first visually "good looking" work on my newest project.

The textures are currently taken from in-game screenshots and I used some PS filters to polish them up a bit. I will draw new ones when I'm done with the 3D model for the locomotive. If you think now:"hey! what's going on with the other projects on your list?", don't worry, I tend to work on many stuff simultaneously, so that if I don't feel like working on a macross thing I just work on another project and so on. Anyway, this train will still need some time and work, but I hope that it will look great when done. I planned on releasing this as a H0 scale (1:87) model.

comments are welcome :D

I managed to model most parts of the locomotive, but there are still some parts missing. Don't be shocked by the messy textures, I'll do better one when the 3D model is done (currently just using official pictures and game-screencaptures)

Macross 7 VF-19 Custom Excalibur

I had some sparetime left, and instead of working on the Hildagarde 3 of Final Fantasy IX, I did a modification of the YF-19 to the VF-19 Custom that is used by Basara Nekki in Macross 7.
For this one I had more to do then just switching the textures.

As you can see on this picture the top vertical stabilizers moved to the mainbody instead sitting on the "legs" (legs in battroid mode). The main wings were straightened and the mainbody got more arrow like. The engine exhaust was undergoing more drastical changes and the front horizontal stabilizers shrinked a bit. Changes were done on the "Shield" (used in battroid mode on the left arm) and the top part of the legs got rounder compared to the edgy YF-19 version.

Here you can see that I changed the jet intakes to be more 3D like instead of just applying black color. The bottom vertical stabilizers were removed too. Just check the other pictures.

Even if it is just a modification it need some annoying UVW mapping work. Development work will start "when I've got some time again". Hope this won't be in 3 years :D

Final Fantasy IX Hildagarde 3 progress

The 3D model of the Hildagarde 3 is done now. Texturing this thing will be a pain in the ass...

Macross Frontier VF-25F Messiah

Too lazy and too tired to write, pictures are better then words anyway.

Goes into unfolding tomorrow. Hope to get it done soon.

Testbuild is going well, still need to fix some tabs in the template, but everything fits fine. Instructions will be done soon.

I haven't updated this blog in a while now, because there wasn't much to say or show.
But now there is :D

This is going to be the Hildagarde 3 from FFIX. As you can see, it is still in the works, missing some structure and textures.

Next one is a picture of the VF-25 with some pretexturing, but it still needs alot of work.
In my first papercraft blog post I showed a picture of a VA-3 from Macross, it is still looking like that but that's going to change too. Thanks to Chthonic (he did send me some Macross 3D models) I'm able work on VB-6 Koenig Monster, VF-5000 and X-9 Ghost now. The VF-5000 and the VB-6 are 3D game rip, the X-9 is a high resource 3D model, all three are not suitable for papercrafting. But they will help me to develop papercraft versions.

This is one of my other Final Fantasy projects. Noctis and Stella from Final Fantasy Versus XIII. They are in development and the textures are currently just taken from published Square-Enix screenshots. The Noctis 3D model is mostly done and the UVW-Mapping too, he only needs better textures and some tweaking. Stella still needs many work and better textures.

I'm also working on other papercraft projects, but I won't tell you about it, only small information will be published by now.

The FF8/FF9 3D tools are still in development, I haven't cancelled them, I just didn't have the time working on them.

Time for a little projectlist now
  • Final Fantasy IX Hildagarde 3 (3D model)
  • Fushigi no umi no Nadia Nautilus 1 (3D model)
  • Macross F VF-25 Messiah (Texturing)
  • Macross VA-3 (Texturing)
  • Macross VF-5000 (3D modelling)
  • Macross VB-6 (3D modelling)
  • Macross X-9 (3D modelling)
  • Final Fantasy Versus XIII Noctis & Stella (Texturing, 3D modelling)
  • Final Fantasy VII Project (Planning)
  • Final Fantasy VIII Project (Planning)
  • Fushigi no umi no Nadia Project (Planning)
  • FF8/FF9 3D tools (63 6F 64 69 6E 67)
Well ... that's all for now. If you have any questions just ask me. You will get your answers in seconds or days ...

Macross Frontier VF-25F Messiah

Final Fantasy VIII 3D Model Converter

Yes, this thing seems to work somehow now. The UVW is still messed up because I'm still not used to the output format I use. The original models get loaded fine (from what I can see from my variable tables)
Still need to tweak around on it.

Fushigi no Umi no Nadia: Nautilus

Happy new year to everyone. If I wasn't to lazy to create instructions I already would have released 4 papercrafts before 2008 was ending but now we have 2009. I started this last year.

It is the Nautilus from Fushigi no Umi no Nadia (aka:The Secret of Blue Water, Nadia of the mysterious Blue Sea, or in germany "Die Macht des Zaubersteins"). As u can see it is not completed, but it will be done in the near future. I tried to keep the Polycount low but didn't managed it. I promise I will do the instructions for Jehuty and the other macross papercraft too ... I'm just really busy right now.
